We welcome Caitlyn Bondy who will be joining our team here at St. Jerome for the rest of the year.

This coming week is Blues in the Schools. This will take place 2nd block and we are looking forward to the music and performances! Thanks to Samara for organizing this opportunity for our students.

Queens is also looking for placements for our three student teachers for the month of May. If you are interested in hosting one of our student teachers, please let me know. They can also do a repeat performance with associate teachers they have already been with.

If you have donated and if you would like to donate, you are invited to participate in our Dress Down Day.

Our Faith Team has a number of things planned to help us with our own personal Lenten Journey this year. They have also come up with some charities for our school community to support based on our Catholic Graduate Expectations. Here is a breakdown of what our team is planning:

He was one of the panellists at Christian Community Day and his mission is to build a Children's Centre in Uganda that is a safe place to learn and play. Weekly Post: Family Day Edition

Here is how the week is looking:

  • Monday: Family Day
  • Tuesday: School Council Meeting 6:30 PM
  • Wednesday: Family Paint Night
  • Thursday: Ski Day
  • Friday:

Hope you all take some time to relax with family or friends this Family Day Weekend. Enjoy the extra day on Monday.

Trying to work on the parking and car issues here at the school. I will try to keep the parents out of the parking lot in the mornings before 8:15 AM so there are spots for all of you. I will also communicate this to the childcare staff.

How can you help with our parking issues? If you can follow these couple of suggestions we can probably get a few more cars parked in our lot and in front of the school.

In our parking lot:

  • It is hard to see the lines when there is snow on the ground. Please do the following so we can get as many cars in the lot as possible.
  • Park in the designated rows closest to Spratt Rd first. As cars come in, they should park next to a car already parked. As cars come in they will gradually park closer to the schoolyard.
  • You only need a foot and a half between the cars to get in and out.
In front of the school:

  • When parallel parking, pull up to the vehicle in front of you. You only need less than a metre space between vehicles.
  • There has been quite a bit of wasted space upfront now that we cannot see the lines. Every little bit helps.
If we all do this and there is still a lack of parking spaces, please use the tennis court parking. Don't get creative and make your own parking spaces. It causes havoc with the busses and others get inspired by your sense of creativity. School staff, daycare staff and parents. I was going to include pictures but I did not want to single anyone out!

If we all do this it will stop some staff from having to park at the tennis courts. The snow will melt soon. I promise!
